Laurie Kang works in photography, collage, sculpture and installation. She primarily explores abstraction using sensitive materials in all aspects of the word. Informed by her female position, she combines personal narrative with minimalism to mine embedded social hierarchies and structures of power. Recent exhibition and project sites include The Power Plant, Erin Stump Projects, AGO, Gallery 44, Art Metropole, Soi Fischer, Gallery 295 (Vancouver), Jen Bekman Gallery (New York), and a book publication and launch with Mossless at The New York Art Book Fair. Upcoming exhibition sites include Camera Austria (Graz) and Les Territoires (Montreal). She is an MFA candidate at Bard College.
