Poem

by Kevin Jagrup

Why? Why is it that life is so hard?
Why can’t we be a planet and soar with the stars?
The sky covers all and we are but one.
One that dwells on the surface of a rocky sphere.
Why do I have to be here?
Why can’t I be chillin with aliens in space
but that’s not my race.
Please don’t get on my case
so what?
I want to visit space and see the galaxies.
No I don’t get my ideas from Mass Effect
but it’s been a wonder since mankind
You never know what you can find
There can be another planet like earth
with human-like beings that are probably writing poetry exactly like me
and are struggling to think
and can’t cover paper with ink from a pen manufactured by Papermate inc.
My brain’s trying to sync
some thoughts into this paper.
